Music: I'm open to most all music. Some ideas and combinations may take more convincing than others, but I promise to keep an open mind. I would prefer not to remake a vid/idea combo that's already out there, but seeing as I don't necessarily follow that rule with my own choices, I wouldn't even consider that written in stone. I'm easy, really. I'll give whatever comes up my best shot. However, some combinations will undoubtedly work better than others. And I may go so far as to point that out.

Notes: Any solid rules on the collaboration will depend on the bidder. Meaning there really aren't any. I'd be more than happy to run the gamut from tech facilitator to true partner in crime. If you're uncertain about anything, please pester me before bidding. I will host the vid on my web page, and the buyer is welcome to do the same.

Viddable fandoms: Battlestar Galactica, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Doctor Who (Nine and Ten), due South, Farscape, Firefly, Gilmore Girls, Heroes (contingent on getting viddable source), Lord of the Rings, Slings & Arrows, Veronica Mars, Wonderfalls; plus pretty much any movie, if I have or can get the source, although I can't promise to vid it WELL if it's something I haven't seen (feel free to check with me about this).

Music: I am willing to try almost anything, although I reserve the right to veto a song in the event that I absolutely cannot stand it; check with me in advance if you're worried. My vids will give you some sense of my eclectic and occasionally obscure musical tastes, but be aware that I also love hip-hop and alt-country and world music and all sorts of other stuff I haven't had an excuse to vid yet.

Genre: I've vidded slash, femslash, het, gen, character studies, ensemble pieces, angst, schmoop, snark, thinky stuff, and fluff. Apparently I fear no genre except outright comedy, which I have never tried and am not at all sure I could pull off, but if you've got an idea, I'm happy to make the attempt.

Supervision: I'm pretty flexible about the bidder's degree of involvement. If you have a very specific idea (particular visuals with particular lyrics) I'm happy to simply be the conduit for your vision; if your idea is more general ("this character! to this song!"), I'll do my best to work with that. However, if you're asking for a vid that necessarily involves several seasons of source (BtVS, Farscape, etc.), I will really appreciate whatever direction you can give me.

Instead of giving me your idea, you can also choose to bump one of my existing but not-yet-started ideas to the top of my To Do list. I've occasionally rambled on about some of these ideas in my LJ; not all of them are vids I could complete in the auction timeframe, but I do have a number of projects that you could choose to hurry along:

I could potentially be talked into vidding other fandoms provided a) you have source for me, and b) I don't need to watch more than 25 hours to catch up (movies in particular I could be pretty easily pitched). I'd prefer to work with a song with a strong, quick beat. I'm holding onto a veto option for song choice, since I'll have to listen to it ad naseum, but here's a list of things currently in my car stereo so you can see if our tastes mesh: Elvis Costello, David Bowie, Blind Faith, Panic! At the Disco, Moxy Früvous, Franz Ferdinand.

I currently work in Final Cut Pro, but I prefer to keep effects in my vids fairly simple (the occasional dissolve or frame rate change) for aesthetic reasons. Unless it's going to be really, really cool.

I would like this to be a dialogue between bidder and vidder. I want you to have a lot of input throughout the process, to look at drafts of the vid and provide suggestions, to be involved.

I prefer to do vids about a specific character or specific relationship rather than general series vids about everything. I also like to feel like I'm saying something new, that the vid I'm making has an original statement. So, for instance, if you wanted to ask for, say, a Highlander Duncan/Methos vid (a pairing I've worked on), I'd want to know, what are we saying in this potential vid that hasn't been said in other vids?

Fandoms: If I don't have the source, I'm more than willing to try and find it. But fandoms I've vidded in before / have the source for include: Angel, Buffy, Supernatural, due South, Highlander, Dark Angel, Farscape, Heroes, Dexter, Bones, La Femme Nikita, Invisible Man. Erm. The list goes on. And on. If in doubt, ask! Not all of these are in DVD quality but where DVD quality is available, I have/can get it.

Style: When left to my own devices, I tend to experiment - for better or for worse - so my vids can get quite effects heavy. But I can and will go au-natural if preferred.

Input: You can have as much or as little say in the vid as you want - give me notes, or just give me the song name and wait. Drafts can be made available, or not, whatever you prefer.

Here is the deal - contact me offlist if you want me to vid a fandom that isn't listed. I might not be able to do it - but if the idea is insane enough or if it involves Beyonce, I'll certainly really want to try it.

Musical Limitations:

1. If there is a well known vid to a song, I will have a hard time disassociating from that - just an FYI. I'll still do it (because I am a total whore) but there are a lot of songs out there and a very limited amount of vidding time in this life, so why?

2. Please don't make me vid something I find difficult to parse. I'd try to explain how this works for my ears, but truthfully? I don't understand it myself. It is totally not a matter of taste or music snobbery because while I can't vid Kate Bush, I am totally cool with Kelly Clarkson. Actually, on about 3 days out of the month "Behind These Hazel Eyes" makes me want to cry. So, when in doubt, just ask me, but hell - turns out I am kinda a whore when it comes to this as well, so... yeah. Bid enough money and I'll vid whatever you want. Oh yeah baby, you are a big stud, aren't ya. Just like that.

Other Parameters:

Lord King Bad Vids are encouraged, sought and lusted after. 80's music reigns supreme and I have deep, soul-affirming, life changing thoughts about the music of Justin Timberlake. I really, really do.

If you are dying to see John Sheppard's "Total Eclipse of the Heart," or you long to find out just how SCARILY "Dreamgirls" correlates to Supernatural (It does! I swear!) or if you too ache to see Fraser as the "Angel of the Morning" then I am the vidder for you.

Of course, if you want an overly earnest video about hugs and death, then I am also pretty good at that. Especially the death part - sometimes I can just allude to hugs because I am all subtle like that.

There are two ways we can go about this collaboration:

1. You have a grand artistic vision and just don't want to do the actual tech work - you know the song, you know the hook, you know what clips need to go where and you just need someone to make it happen, that is extremely cool. As a vidder who is forever wanting other vidders to make vids just for her, I support you in your goal! We can do this.

2. You kinda have a vague idea that Atlantis ain't a scene, it's a god damn arms race (or any other possible ideas - do you sometimes watch Angel and wonder if these people have ever heard of closing the goddamn door? Do you listen to Gwen Stefani's "Sweet Escape" and think that sometimes Dean wonders if he could be sweet?) and you'd like to see what I can do with that, what I come up with. This is exciting! It is also a crapshoot, but hell - so is life. I will do my best to smoke the really good shit and figure out a way to make your crapshoot...do some kind of crapshoot extended metaphor of YAY. Pay off? Casinos depress me. You know what I mean.
